Hi im 19 taking a gap year before uni and I am planning to travel april time. Im a bit nervous about travelling on my own so would be great to find a travel buddy before I go, either to travel with or meet out there!
Im planning a bit of everything, quite a few stop overs but then main travel thailand, cambodia, laos, vietnam singapore etc. then oz. At the moment i plan a couple of days in cape town, delhi and hongkong with 2 weeks volunteering in kenya before thailand.
Im hoping to get to thailand around april 26th, hopefully make the full moon party on the 28th and then do thai intro on may 3rd...then make my own way to laos, cambodia and vietnam etc.
Then OZ- probably the oz experience.
If anyone has similar plans or is looking for a travel buddy in april please get in touch.
My plans will probably change before then but would be nice to know someone!

After having a brain wave last night i realised that Id be better doing my trip in reverse, doing the easy bits first and getting the best weather in oz and asia. So, my revised plan...
April 1st USA not sure where LA/NY
Then April 5th - Mexico for volunteer project 1 week
April 13th - oz - ox experience bus tour sydney to cairns, ive allowed 27 days for this.
May 10 - Bali
May 14 -singapore
eve flight 16th- Kuala Lumpur
19th Bangkok where I want to do the thai intro package
May 27th travel to koh phanang for full moon party on the 29th, then couple of days to recover, then travel to Bangkok on the 1st.
Then ive given myself June 2nd to 28th for free travel - Id like to see Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia.
Then 29 June - Hongkong
July 2nd - Flight to Delhi
5thish travel down to goa, 4 days there
11 July cape town until 17th/18th
Flight to nairobi 18th then volunteer project 2 weeks
August 2nd finish and free time kenya, travel home 5th.

These are very ish dates at the moment but still if anyone elses dates tie up or if youd fancy coming along let me know! Im most anxious about the time in asia that i dont have any actual firm plans so if your about and fancy meeting up that would be great!

I backpacked round India for 5 weeks after my A levels. Now planning 8 months RTW before uni.Suggest you contact someone like STA travel -give them a rough itinery and they will cost the travel element of the trip -its about £1500 round the world airfare and however much you can spend on food and accomadation/activities -depend how much you want to rough it as well .I'm budgeting £1000 a month in Oz/NZ and £500 in thailand/india/africa
cheers
