Any Good hostel in New York |

| Hi I'm looking to go new york in either april or Summer 2010, can anyone help me in Recommending any good ones for me, and has anyone been to Urban Oasis before, would love your throughts.

| 99Hostel on 126th is amazing, the basic room is like $19 a night in a shared dorm up to 12 and the one up from that $26 a night was a four bed room with an ensuite bathroom containing a luxury square bath, it was such good value.
-Staff are friendly, -Also --- FREE BREAKFAST!!!! Highly reccomend it. |

| The Big Apple Hostel was great when I stayed there back in 2004. No idea if it will still be as good but was an awesome location, about 1 minute from Times Square! | |

| The HI Hostel on Amsterdam has always done me fine. Maybe not the cheapest or best location, I've never really researched, you just know what you're getting when you stick to HI. | |

| I prefer to stay between MidTown and Downtown e.g Soho, grenwich village as you feel much more in the heart of the action and close to all the tourist sites. Wheras 126th Street is in Harlem and as well as not being too safe (better than it used to be) it's just a bit of a trek from everywhere and NY Subs are a lot slower than for example the London Underground
that said I haven't stayed in any brilliant hostels but Chelsea Hostel and manhatten Inn were reasonable, but I think this average-ness applies across NY I think everyone feels that they need to stay in manhattan but Willamsburg (Brooklyn) is amazing and look on hostelworld as it has 2 highly rated hostels Urban Oasis looks good if you are with someone else as great loaction and 40 quid a night per person is a bargain for NY Make sure book in advance especially for weekends |
