Right girls.. Im solo traveller to SE Asia in late Jan......? |

| On my own end of Jan flying into Bangkok,any other girlies doing a similar thing nd have worries like me?? and anyone done it and have any advice?? Do I book a group thing? do you book hostels before you go? arghhh so much to think about dont know where to start! If you could give one piece of valuable advice what would it be?? | |

| Hi Tinkerbell. I am leaving the UK late January to Bangkok. I was thinking of booking myself onto a tour a I have never travelled on my own before so at least I would have something planned.
People who I know who have travelled before say that it is easy to meet people but I suppose you don't know until you get there! Let me know what you are thinking. Sarah |

| Hi Tinkerbell.
I went to Thailand as my first port of call on my solo travels in 2007. I booked a hostel for my first few nights, but I needn't have bothered. I'd book for the first night (perhaps two nights, maximum) so you can find your feet. I didn't book any group things (but I do like my own company and am pretty independent) and I found Bangkok fine. I met a girl at the airport who stayed at my hostel, so it was pretty easy to meet people. I then made my way around Thailand alone and had few problems. Just try to stay around crowds at stations, etc., as there are weirdos there the same as anywhere else. I absolutely loved Thailand. I met some lovely locals on night trains, in guest houses, restaurants, etc., so enjoy! I am envious! SJx |

| thanks for the messages and advice on been there,done it, and yeh I agree there are always wierdos at stations!!I think its daunting not having accomodation as such,im still debating starting off on a tour,but thanks about the hostel,if you know any good ones let me know... and yeh sarah..we should chat about our travels..? look me up on facebook or message me,would be cool to no someone before setting off!

I will be arriving in bangkok alone on jan 12th. Think i'm going to head north first into laos, then onto vietnam and cambodia before coming back to thailand if anyone is around then? Can't wait! |

I'm flying out to bangkok around feb time and going to spend a bit of time around thailand before heading north.
