Thats brilliant, what an idiot.

I think we do have the best accent going. Altho the irish one is brilliant. i've got an irish mate and all he has to do to put us in hysterics is shout. Don't know why its so funny!

A Malaysian friend of mine is moving to Edinburgh and has started learning Gaelic.. I didn't have the heart to tell her most of us don't speak it.

A couple of English folk I met in Nepal thought I was Austrian from my accent and some more on another occasion thought I was American...

I'm near the (welsh) border so accents not that strong just a bit of a twang. Unless I'm angry or around people with a strong welsh accent then it picks up. In Perth was with 2 boys from Merthyr and had to translate everything they said to all the Irish from the hostel as I was the only one who had a clue what they were saying.

Im from Aberdeen. My accent isn't even that strong!! I get - "What part of Ireland are you from?" a fair bit. And "Can you speak English please?" which really pisses me off actually.
On another note i can't understand a word the Irish lads say when they have a drink in them(which is a fair bit!)
Iv'e slowed it right down though since being in Oz.And i hardly say any doric/slang anymore.Kind of have to when you talk 100 miles per hour!
