| I volunteered with these guys for 3 months this year and it was a brilliant experience so I thought I would spread the word!
www.archelon.gr There are 6 different summer projects throughout Greece (and one all year round Rescue Centre in Athens) protecting the largest nesting population of Loggerhead Sea Turtles in the Mediteranean! It was 150euros to take part for as many months as you want (28days minimum) and once yr out there its only 30euros a week for all yr food and water!! and its basically the same as what all these £2000+ projects are offering! You get to work with the turtles at night watching em lay, tagging of their flippers for location mapping, locating and protecting the nests in the morning, protect the beaches, inform tourists, raise funds to improve the projects and fund the turtle rescue centre, save injured turtles, go swimming,sunbathing, exploring drinking..... and because its Greece its good for Europeans as you need no visa to stay there for half the year if you wanted

I am pleased to tell you that Ecoteer is now running their own conservation and community based projects.
