So, they've now added two extra flights a week between KL and Gold Coast, taking the service to 6 times a week.
And there's some promo fares to mark the launch of this increase in frequency:
"To celebrate the launch of the additional flights AirAsia X is offering seats for sale from $149 ex Gold Coast to Malaysia and are on sale until August 9, for travel between October 20, 2009 and January 10, 2010. Prices include airport taxes and reflect AirAsia's recent decision to scrap administration fees entirely."
For anyone who's looking at a cheap way of getting to Sydney, then Air Asia are still a cheap way of getting there, even though they've been delayed with their plans to fly there directly.
Greyhound and Premier can get you from the Gold Coast to Sydney for AUD $90ish, so that's £45. If you get a flight with Air Asia from London to KL and then KL to Gold Coast for under £300-or-so, you can then take the bus to Sydney and get there for less than most other airlines will charge you for flying to Sydney direct from the UK on a one way ticket.
Just an idea.
