I always say this, but when you're canvassing fares with Air Asia (or any of the other low cost airlines in Asia), make sure you click through to the page where the taxes and fees are added. They don't have to advertise the fares inclusive of fees and taxes like they do in Europe.
You might find a 300-ish baht fare, but when the taxes and fees are added it's often more like £50.
Sometimes they do promos where everything is included, but more often than not the fees aren't included. The airport taxes and fees have gone up like mad over the past couple of years, so even though the flights are still often cheap, they're not always as cheap as you might've heard about from folks who've been out there in previous years.
I've flown longhaul with them and done loads of short hops over the years with them. Decent enough, if late quite often. They still shit on the likes of Ryanair though. |
