PostPosted: Wed Aug 19, 2009 7:58 pm Reply to Message Reply with quote

Hello, im planning on travelling around central america around autumn time and was hopingn to get some advice from past travellers expecially lone females. Also Im a zoology graduate and was hoping to gain some conservation experience, so could anyone recommend any good scientific projects that are fairly low priced.

Many Thanks

http://www.bunac.org.uk/volunteer/usa/eligibility.aspx £250 for the volunteer placement for 10 or 12 weeks and that includes the accomodation plus food whilst on projects. You can also read people's diarys on the site who have done the programme before.

Hi

You've probably gone off travelling already but if not heres a few projects I found in central America which might interest you. One is a Sea turtle conservation project in Costa Rica which costs about £65 a week with accommodation included.

There is also a good conservation project with reptiles on Utila Island which is about £50 a week. I've read pretty good things about them. I'll be finding loads more similar projects soon so just give me a message if you want any finding any others.

This link goes to the two conservation projects I've found so far in Central America:

Hope that helps

Mike
