Hey Guys, just wondering if any of you had done this/thinking about doing this/heard from anyone who had done this!

It sounds great, i just wanted to know if it lives up to its own hype

I'd love to do a football academy gap so if anyone can reccomend a better one (for women as well as men!) it would be great thanks!

I know all about it. I went for 8 weeks in Oct/Nov last year. It is a football academy where the majority if players are 12-20 years old, and aspire to be professional players. Half of it is football pitches and accommodation for the players (about 120 maybe), the other half is a hotel/swimming pool etc for holiday people. You need to be a good standard of football/fitness already to get much out of it. I am 29 and just went to have a holiday and play some football, and I loved it. I was really the odd one out though as everyone was so much younger, but it was all fine. You need to be a real hardcore player though as it is 2 sessions a day for 5 days, maybe an afternoon off. Weekends are free. It also helps a LOT if you know some Brazillian Portugese as there are not that many english speakers around. I would have had some lessons beforehand if I had known. One thing is certain though, if you go there for 8 weeks, you come back a better player, my basic technique improved and things like heading as lots of it is repetition which you dont realise at the time is doing you good, but when you get back you notice. The players there have been there for months/years so their technique - passing, control etc is spot on. However their shooting was generally awful which I found strange :-)
