Au Pairs in Rome! |

Hello 
I've just accepted a job offer, au-pairing in Rome from the beginning of January 2010 until the end of July. I'm really excited about this, but a little bit nervous too...I'd love to hear from anyone who's going to be doing a similar thing in Rome at around the same time, or just from anyone who has any au pair experience and advice to share! I'm an Au Pair in Italy atm, in the smallest city in the world- 100,00 people, 150 churches! I'm hoping to find a new family in Rome for Jan 2010! As you may have guessed from that I've had some serious ups and downs with my current family. How old are the kids you have and how many? Accomodation and Location? Money and hours are also well worth considering, I have a friend who earns around 75p an hour! Lol, you'll either love it or hate it seems to be the general conensus from au pairs I've met here. XXX |

| Aww no, why do you want to change families?
The kids are 18 months and 4 years, but they have a housekeeper as well who looks after the 18 month old I think - so I have to dress the 4 year old for school, then pick her up from school in the afternoon and play with her til the parents get home. They sound absolutely lovely, and I'll have a room with a phone & computer...not sure exactly where it is but I know they live on the outskirts of Rome, but there's a bus that goes direct to the centre from outside the house. If you do find a family in Rome we should definitely meet up! Have you had any luck yet? One of the things I'm most worried about is just being a bit lonely over there. Has it been hard to meet people? Hope you're having a lovely weekend xxx |
