Where offers the most hands on experience?

Hi

I'm looking to volunteer in South America in November or December, just for a fortnight.

I've been looking at either the Sloth santuary in Costa Rica, Inti Wara Yassi in Bolivia, or one of the wildlife sanctuaries in Ecuador.

I would like the most hands on experience possible - I realise some of the time may be spent doing things that do not involve direct contact with the animals, which is fine, but I'd like to do something where a good proportion of the time is spent with the animals.

Has anyone been to any of the above? Can anyone recommend anywhere in South America in terms of spending time with the animals?

Hayley

Oh, and needless to say, I want to go somewhere that's a genuinely worthwhile project - as much as I want to have a good experience, I only want to go somewhere where that's making a real difference to the animals.

Don't worry. Gapyears very own Warrick will be all over this thread like a spider monkey when he spies it and you'll be sorted.
