Volunteering....do you ALWAYS have to pay?!! |

| Hello,
I know I may get shot down for this so please excuse my ignorance. I REALLY want to do some conservation work/volunteer work on my next trip (I'll be going to Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Bali and Australia). I am happy to do pretty much anything, volunteering to help children/building work/animals...however from what I can see you always have to pay for the privilege. I know this must be their only source of income but surely there are places you can volunteer for free? I'm MORE than happy to donate money to wherever I may volunteer but some of these prices are beyond extortionate. Is anyone able to shed any light? Thanks! xx |
