 WWOOFing in Oz

Hey all

I’m currently in Oz on a 3 month tourist visa.
This mans that I cant get a job and earn money but I am told that I can do something called WWOOFING or something. Its when you work for food and board. A girl I met has a book with names and addresses of people, places and types of work you can do with them. She payed $80 Oz dollars to get it and become a member.

I would really like to look at the possibilities of doing something like this with a retreat place or something, cleaning and gardening but will I really have to pay $80? What are the benefits of joining and paying the membership fee? Cant I just ask the places myself?

Does anyone know a cheaper way of getting hold of WWOOFing details?

Anyone doing it with a bit of advice for me??

Hey
yeah pretty sure you will need to pay, its an organisation which helps organic farmers, so yes its all for good cause, and no you cant just get the names and addresses as these people - the farmers - are signed on to this scheme as well. google it and youll get much more info.

Have a look on gumtree. I checked out Perth before and found a couple. One them only wanted 10 hours work from you a week in exchange for accommodation.
