Experience with Projects Abroad? (or Teaching Projects Abroad)

Hi!
I am thinking of combining a diving trip with teaching children both through Projects Abroad. Please can anyone who has been with them either post below or email me as to what they were like. I would really appreciate this as although you can contact ex-volenteers through them, I always think that they give you only details that they know the people had a good time and a good experience.

I would be really grateful for any reviews (positive or negative) about this/your experiences.
Thanks in advance.
Christina.

PS. If you want to email me: christinafeilden@hotmail.co.uk

Hey!
I went to Senegal with projects abroad this summer and absolutely loved it!
Although I went on the 2-week project for 16-19 year olds we spent a lot of time with the 50 other volunteers who were there for weeks/months and I only met one person who wasn't enjoying themselves!
Projects abroad were brilliant, completely helpful in every area, they made everything very easy.I especially liked that although you were independent, there was a really fun social network between all the volunteers (living/working together as well as going out).
I actually can't think of anything negative to say about projects abroad!

Hope this helps
Anne

Thank you so much! I have now contacted the organisation so hopefully they will give me some more information about the programs, and put me in contact with a few past volunteers.

Thanks - does anyone else have any other experiences?

Hi,
My sister and a friend of hers have just left to go to different projects in different countries and both have so far got great things to say about Projects Abroad. They were really helpful with visas, especially when one of them got stopped at the airport and told her visa was invalid, they sorted it all out for her. They have also organised their flights for them and changed them a couple of times without any problems and have placed them in relevant and interesting projects.
All in all the overall opinion so far is that they are very good.

hi there - it's definitely true that the incountry support of Projects Abroad is brilliant! the staff go out of their way to make sure their volunteers are well looked after. They sort out any problems you have.

i volunteered with them a few years back and I would say it's an amazing experience. Placement, host family and the weekend trips are very well organised...

good luck to you and enjoy your time volunteering abroad x
