Hi guys,
I was looking to do a Round the World trip around May 2011 (I no it’s a long way off but me and my friends need time to save).
I was looking at flying from London - NYC (overland to Washington DC although not essential, maybe camping out in Blair Woods for a few days as my pal is a huge movie boffin)-LA - Fiji - Cook Islands - Auckland - Christchurch -Sydney (hopefully going to buy a cheap backpackers car which will enable me to travel overland through the outback to Melbourne or Cairns, although I’m open to suggestions) - Singapore where I am going to attempt to navigate a clockwise trip of Southeast Asia including Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia Laos and Vietnam -flying into Bucharest where I will travel by rail through Hungry, Austria, Italy, Germany and France finally returning to London.
My time in each region hasn’t been decided yet, although I want to stay in the USA for only a short period (due to money) with Oz and Southeast Asia taking up the bulk of my trip. I was looking at roughly 8-12 months in total. I will also be looking for work in Oz as i hear hostels can often help backpackers out.
As a first time traveller I am not sure if I am way out of my depth with this one. Could any1 that has done a bit of travelling let me no if my plan is feasible or am I just being a fantasicist?
Thanks for your help guys
