 TEFL or other work in Brazil or Argentina?

Hey, does anyone know if there are any / many opportunities to teach English in S.Amercia - in particular Argentina or Brazil?

S.America is the last leg of my RTW trip and i'm looking to work there for 6 momths or so to see a different side to and add a new dimension to my travelling experience. Just wondering if it's possible.

Doesnt necessarily have to be teaching, alhough i would like to give it a go if poss...

there are a ton of places to teach english in south america if you are traveling up north ecuador peru and bolivia especially are always looking for people to volunteer, alot of places in ecuador especially i found do programs were you can learn spanish of the people you are teaching english to which sounded quite good

i am not sure if your looking for a paid job or voulenteering though i know you can get paid english teaching jobs as well in chile and argentina

I worked as a volunteer park ranger in Torres del Paine National Park in the Chilean Patagonia many years ago. It was before the days of internet, I sent them a letter saying I spoke Spanish and liked the outdoors, and that was good enough for them. I got food and board, and had an incredible 5 months.

They've got a website nowadays of course, I wouldn't know who you should contact but it might be worth a try if you like the idea.

thanks for the info guys, some great advice. errrm well i'm looking for enough money not to get into any more debt i guess!

these jobs (teaching or non-teaching) - do you reckon this is something i can sort out when i'm over there?

cos i've had a little ganders around on the net and i cant see much..

Have you been to S.Amercia then blondie? and particular country you'd recommend me dropping anchor for a while to work? hadn;t been PLANNING on going north of peru to be honest, but ya never know, that could change.
