2nd Year Visa for Oz, will they let this through??

Hi,

I need some advice as I am thinking of applying for my 2nd year visa but am worried about getting deported

I have been working in a bar for 3 months but only a few hours a week but have been on the books and paying tax with this job.

I have also been working on a farm nearby for a friend of a friend but only for my keep I am not getting paid for that work as well I just get my accommodation.

As I have been working on the farm for 3 months can I apply for my 2nd year visa? I am worried that I will apply for it and they will see I have been getting paid for my bar work and think I am trying to scam them!? Is there anyway of getting my 2nd year visa or will they not allow it?

Please help

Thanks

It does'nt matter if you got paid for it or not.

First of all, you need to check that the farm you worked on, was in one of the specified postcodes that they allow for a 2nd WHV.

After that, yo can go online and print off a form that you get the farmer to fill in an sign, nd then yo san thisin an atatch it to the aplication, then the people who check the sa, ring the farmer and check you were working there, and process your application.

If you worked in a bar as well for it of cash, it doesn't matter you werent doing anything wrong. All you need to do is prove about the farm work. What you did outsidde of this is irrelivent.

I hope this helps you out.
Anna.

The farm has to be within an specified postal code area. You will find out if it is on the immigration website.

I think as long as the farm is within that kind of area and they are going to confirm you did actually work for them for 88 days then you should be fine

You don't even have to have that paper copy of the form. You can, as back up if you like.

You can apply online. All you fill in is the address/postcode, the person you were working for, their contact details, and the dates you worked. When they check them all they do is double check with the employer I think. So the worst that could happen is they will phone the guy you've been working for and say, did this person work for you for these dates. And he will say yes!
Sorted.
Working for your keep is fine. I put that down on part of my second visa application. I worked for money for like 6 or 7 weeks, but then as I was living in the farm house for free, I worked for 3 weeks where I didn't get paid.
I have my second visa :-)
Easy!

Ok so the worse they'll do if they think it looks suspicious is phone the farmer and check that I worked there?

Even if it was for a couple of hours a day does that matter?

I'm just worried as by the time I send off the application I will be in Melbourne so I won't be on the farm anymore if they come and check or something lol.

I know that so many people pay off farmers nowdays so thought it would look that way.

Yeah, just do it online and you'll be fine.

Too many folks do the paper thing. There really is no need. If they decide they want to scrutinise applications further, then they may ask for it or call the employer.

I did mine online, and so did the vast majority of folks I know. Some applications take longer than others to be approved (the approximate range is from 1 day to a couple of months), but you'd be unlucky if they later requested paperwork if you do an online application.

Let us know how you get on.
