Depends what time of year, mate.
You'll find less work generally in wet season, which is late October-ish through to April-ish.
You'll also need to get your Queensland Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate, so you'd probably best go to a city (Bris or Cairns) or at least a larger town than Airlie first in order to sit the course. You may find an RSA course in Airlie or Proserpine though, so dig around online.
You can't work with booze without getting the RSA certificate, and lots of employers won't employ waiters/glass collectors etc without it either.
