hey, me and a mate have been in perth now for over 2 weeks and had no luck at all getting jobs. we have had a couple of interviews and as soon as we told them we were on a WHV they didnt want to know us. it seems like all the jobs here are long term and there's not even any jobs adverised for backpackers. i dont know what to do to be honest, was thinking of just catching a flight and heading over east to try my luck over there. any advise would be welcome. cheers. kris.

tell them you are looking for long term work!!!

Try the surrounding towns not just perth, melbourne, sydney, brisbane, darwin, there must be something somewhere - or try fruit picking!! Seasons in now!!

Have you tried Geoffrey Nathan agency? They help WHV backpackers so the employers they work with know you are only travelling so you get past that initial barrier, could be worth trying?

If not yeah try outside areas of the city maybe?
