Hi not sure where to post but hopefully here is ok

Im Travelling to Trujillo in Peru in December 29th around that time and im looking for air tickets to actually get there.Returning around June next year.
I have been looking at tickets and the price is now around 750 GBP which is rather alot to a person who has had to wait 3 years cos im so rubbish at saving :P anyway,i know that if you go via america Miami or Newyork its a lot cheaper, then get a connecting flight from there to Lima.It works out a lot cheaper and you save around 200 pounds for a return which is well good. But anyway enough of me rambling on, just wondering if anyone has any information or help please to getting there on a reasonable cheap budget if its different to the route i found and also the best way from Lima to Trujillo as well when i do actually arrive in Peru.
Thanks!

Hi, I'm flying to Lima at the same time and £750 return was the best I could get. Thats going glasgow-madrid then madrid-lima.

I'd say check the continental website for the dates you're looking for, their flights have connections in newark/miami, about 2 weeks before I booked mine there were flights for about £650 but I missed them

Ah yeah i saw that you can also fly from Madrid and Amsterdam, they tend to be around the 700 mark.
Ah yeah man i saw some flights for 620 the other week but stupidly forgot to book them and now they have gone up by around 100.
I mean the cheaper the better really cos that means more money for exploring since the rate of the dollar is pretty shite.
But i worked out that a flight to Miami is around 300 return from london and there is a flight on Spirit Airlines from Ft Lauderdale Miami to Lima that is only 150 dollars return but means hanging around in Miami for a few days, but i reckon that saves around 300 squid and i can spend New years in miami which could be sweet. But still looking for other options

Well if your in Lima then hook up for a drink

£650 is a normal price, but you can expect that to be at least £50 dearer as you're flying during the Xmas holidays.

Make sure you check the prices of flying into other airports (Santiago, La Paz, Bogota, Quito, etc.) because if it's massively cheaper (Bogota often is), then it might be an idea to fly into there and get a bus to Lima. It will take a lot longer, but it depends how much the extra cash you save means to you.

Trujillo isn't the nicest/most fun place in Peru - you're better off staying in Huanchaco which is about 40 minutes away by collectivo (minibus) or 25 mins by taxi and has a nice beach and so on. The pre-Inca ruins and everything are in between Trujillo and Huanchaco anyway so it doesn't make much difference.

There are tons of buses from Lima to Trujillo and vice versa. Cruz del Sur is the most expensive luxury bus which gets you get a decent service and buses are clean and comfortable. To be honest, we travelled with the (apparently) worst bus company - Flores - and it was just fine, so it depends on your budget which you go for.

It is SO easy to travel around South America, you could do it with your eyes closed.

And yeah the Inca ruins are on my list of things to do and see,ah thats reassuring to know that the transport is easy, and that it is a regular service. Not too sure around that time of year though due to the holidays will have to check it out but thanks for the info

And yeah deffo meet up me and my friend will hopefully arrive around the 29th/30th sleep of the lag then Fiesta time will keep in contact until then, nice one.
