Does anyone know what right you have to your holiday pay if you have accrued days but have not used them by the time you finish your job?

Depends on your contract, read that or your company handbook.

Some company's you can claim them as paidm but other's operate a policy of you take them or lose them

You just claim unclaimed holidays as cash, dude.

It's pro rata though, obviously. So if you get 25 days paid holiday a year, but you've only worked for 6 months, then you only get 12.5 days.

This is assuming you're on a permanent contract. Some companies might try to stitch you out of it, but it's a statutory entitlement.

So tell them to go bollocks if they play up.

yeah, they have to pay. cash.

they work it out by dividing your per annum wage (or equivalent) by 365 to get your amount per day.

then multiply that by the amount of days you have to claim.

i doubt you will have any trouble claiming it, its standard practice.

i did it years ago, i was on a 12 month contract and at the end they just sent me extra for my 20 days holiday i didnt use up.

i was knackered by the end of it. made me realise that holidays are there for a reason!

i'll just be booking the first couple of weeks in september as holiday and leaving for my travels on the 1st september, i'll hand my notice in halfway through august... they already know i'm leaving though and i've cleared this with them... just talk to your boss
