If this company works in the area of business travel they're only going to be interested in your travel experiences to a certain point. Business travel isn't so much about going out and seeing the places as it is about being able to arrange quality accommodation, meeting facilities, transport etc. What you really want to do is look at the company and how they position themselves in the market ie are they aiming at high end companies, large corporates, small entrapenours etc? A key area in this line of work is relationship building be that with the customer group or through making contacts in country to secure the best deals for your client. Any experience you have of this you really want to push. General customer service excellence is also key and you should look to demonstrate examples of this also. Best bet is to find out as much as possible about the company and try and relate any experiences you've had back to how they operate/think. Yeah they are going to want you to have travel experience but if you focus purely on that they're going to look at you more as wanting to be a travel agent in terms of holidays/experiences and such rather than a business travel consultant - very different goals and markets.
Pam that was astonishingly sensible! There is more to you than what i saw in Leeds!
How do you play both cards so skillfully?
