| Anybody been backpacking in Morocco?
I'm looking for somewhere to go this Summer, and as Thailand seems to be off the menu I was thinking of Morocco- the flights are so much cheaper than anywhere else! I've never really heard much about the backpacker scene though, is it vaguely safe to travel there on a shoestring? |

ummm, I'm not sure it would very comfortable on your own.... however  if u fly into Marrakech there's an ace hostel - pansion something - and you should be good to meet peeps there.
I defo recommend going to Imlil, grab a "grande taxi" at the outskirts of marrakech and get up toubkal - its a moderate 2 day hike. Then Essaouira to chill out and buy fish and get drunk
I also went up to Asilah and Chefchaoen, these places were really chilled out but also pretty quiet and hot! Maybe not worth the journey tbh, fantastic coffee and crepes tho
