St Lucia-living costs??? |

| hi there,
am considering taking a job in st lucia during my gap year, offering to pay 'basic renumeration costs' (ie, daily living costs only). has anyone spent any time in st lucia and if so can you tell me anything about the cost of living there. Relative to what you might expect to pay in the UK is it cheaper? more expensive? iv had a look at exchange rates, but without going there and looking at things like the average taxi fare or food prices its hard to know! i went to cuba, my experience there was that compared to england it's very cheap. you tend to start thinking in the local currency and realise you're often paying more than locals, but when you compare it to england it's still fair. i would assume it would be a similar case in st. lucia but no expert =) lonelyplanet is usually good for average prices of taxi rides, meals, accommodation etc. i'd love to go, i bet it's fab! lauren xx |
