Hi people. I'm new to this site, and apologise if I'm writing in the wrong place or whatever...
Just briefly: In November 08 I bought flights for my partner and I to go to Guatemala and then on to Cuba from Mexico 4 weeks later (then from Havana back to UK). Inc insurance this cost £2000. The problem is, we've broken up and it appears that we will not be getting back together. That's another story, but the problem is I have some very expensive flights, and dont know if there is any way to either A: ideally get them refunded as theres still 2months to go, or B: change the name of one or both of us, so that somepeople can still go, and pay whoever stays behind. I will of course talk to STA travel, but they havent done anything wrong, and the flights are "non-refundable" which is not promising So I guess I wondered if I could get any advice if any one has any ideas about what to do, or what to say to STA Travel.
If I can not get a refund, but can change the name on the flight, how do you go about looking for someone that might want that flight without getting ripped off by them?
I know its all a bit hopeless. But I thought I'd see if any one had any bright ideas!!
Thanks guys
Happy travelling
