Port Elizabeth to Cape Town - quickest and cheapest

Hi everyone,

When I finish my volunteering in Port Elizabeth I'll be doing the Baz Bus but I want to start in Cape Town. I looked at internal flights but they're about £90 on the websites I searched. if I went straight through on the baz bus it would be free on my ticket but take about 15 hours! Does anyone know of any cheaper or quicker ways I can get to Cape Town to then start my Baz Bus trip from Cape Town to Jo'burg??

Thanks for any help

I dont know a huge amount about this sort of stuff, im going to South Africa in October, but cant you get on the Baz Bus and stop off a places so your seeing stuff on the way? I think its the cheapest way to do it. The other option people keep telling me to do is wait till your out there. The flights will be cheaper if you book them when your out there.
Let me know how you get on! i need all the advise i can get!

Hey,

Not sure which airlines you've looked at so far but a couple of cheap ones are Kulula and 1time. I just had a quick look, and you can get flights from PE to Cape Town with Kulula for £50, and with 1time for as little as £40. I flew with both, and they're fine to go with.

Alternatively, you could get a Greyhound bus for just over 20 quid, but it's a 22 hour journey!

hey, thanks for both of your replies, i think i will wait til i get out there, you never know i might be able to cadge a lift lol !

seeing things on the way to CT means i'd either see them again on my way back or end up doing the long journey back the other way cos i'm going CT to joburg and PE is in between them so either way i've got the same problem

I'll keep you posted though Alove, only 7 weeks to go
