New plans! of the Thailand variety

Some of you might remember me a while ago I used to come on here quite a lot and I was planning on huge trip around SEA and Oz but that regrettably fell through long story short... I finished uni, skint, got a good opportunity to set up my own business, not doing as well as first anticipated, bored of it already tbh, want to take a 2/3/4 month break in Thailand and surrounding loveliness. I know people dont really like these types of posts but its the easiest way to consolidate all the info I'm going to need

but anyway this is what I was thinking...

Open return flight to Bangkok in January or early February with one night in a hotel booked.
Hopefully already arranged to meet one or more of you lovely people or find where there might be lovely people.
Have a rough route planned out
Travel/fun/frolics
Come home recession over
Back to happy Jack

Simples? So now I need to get the ball rolling asap I've got no idea where to begin. I've got 3 possibly 4 months to sort out everything. This is obviously on a budget but I really need help with the rough travel ideas and guestimate figures, cost of living per day, expenses before I go etc etc so any help and suggestions would be greatly apprecitated

Cheers

Heyy..
From what iv heard most people are saying around £1000 a month.. im assuming thats mainly for Australia and New Zealand.. Im going ot Thailand for a month on the 10th Feb then on to Oz and all the rest. Will be going to the full moon party on the 1st of March. Hoping to get around £4000 minimum for a 5month trip! My cousin was in Thailand last year though and 'struggled' to spend money.. which is always good right?! Xx

Aup mate,

So i read, £600 a month in SE Asia and £1000 a month in AUS n NZ aslong as your doing it on a budget...which sounds like you are.

I'm heading out in the middle of January to Bangkok, and i'm doing a loop that goes up to Chiang Mai, over to Laos, down the river to Luang Prabang n on to Vientiane...up to Hanoi and down the coast of Vietnam (maybe part on a motorbike), across to Phnom Penh and Siem Reap and back to Bangkok before heading down to malaysia. I'm hoping to spend around 3 months in that area before hitting Aus.

Apparently you can get a beer for like 50p in a bar in SE Asia, so getting drunk won't be too expensive either

cool, I think im going to in end week of Jan or the 1st week in Feb but I'm just going to take 1K and see how long I last hopefully 4 to 6 weeks and i'll just make my way around thailand. I'm going to spend a week or so in a muay thai camp and i've been told that saves money :s

Sounds like we need to meet up over in Thailand mate.

I'm on a slightly bigger budget but pretty much doing the same kind of thing. Only spent 3 weeks in SE Asia last year so want to do a lot more in the 2 or 3 months I have left before going back to the UK.

I arrive in Phuket either 17th Jan or some time in first week/second week of Feb depending on my contract here in NZ. Want to do North Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam before making the trek down to Malaysia and Kuala Lumpur where I then go home.

I'll have about $3500 NZ Dollars which is about 1600 pounds.

Message me in a few weeks or so and we can sort out plans etc. Anyone else too.

I am also in Thailand end of Jan. No firm plan but wanting to cover a similar area before heading to Singapore for my flight to Oz.

I am travelling on my own and would love the company.
