Flights between fiji and cook islands

Ok so I going to Fiji in November for 4 weeks as part of my RTW. I realise now that this maybe a little bit too long!

So ideally I want to fit the cook islands in as well, but it's not possible with the type of ticket I have. Are there any cheap flights that go from fiji to cook islands and back?

I have looked into Air New Zealand but a return flight comes to a whopping £600. No thanks!

You might need to fly to NZ - it was about 15 months ago I was there and was quoted if I remember $300 by Blue pacific from Auckland...

you could go from either NZ to Fiji return, then NZ - Cook Islands - Los Angeles

or NZ to Cook Islands return, then NZ - Fiji - LA

there's only one flight a week from rarotonga to LA though, i think, so fiji -LA has more flexibility.

This article explains the changes

There seems to be a few of these Cook islands & or Fiji threads appearing recently. Makes you wonder why Air NZ cancelled the route if people seem to want to see both.

Thanks for all the replies!!!

I'm actually going RTW anti-clockwise, and my next stop after fiji is auckland. So what I might do is change my departure date from fiji to auckland to 7-10 days earlier (for a small fee), and get a return flight to rarotonga, cook islands from auckand.

The cheapest I could find is Air New Zealand for £220 return.

That's still kinda pricey though. Is it worth seeing cook islands for this much after just coming out of fiji?

Cook Islands > Fiji by so much in my opinion.

I found it so much nicer that the tacky touristy buy buy buy my merchandise shops that Nadi and other towns in Fiji are laden with.

I went there before I flew to Fiji, While I was traveling, Air NZ got rid of the direct route, so it was a suprise to find that we had to fly from the cooks to auckland, then to fiji. So I visited NZ a month before scheduled

Raratonga is beautiful, Muri Beach being one of the highlights of it. It's very cheap to rent a moped for wizzing around the island... even if you don't have an actual driving license >_>

If you go, I recommend this place to stay.

It's really nice, as is the owner of the place.
