go to beachcomber, octopus and robinson crusoe islands. avoid mana island and dont spend too long on the mainisland nadi as it isn't as good as the others.

quality....yeh heard main island is not great, do you know much about the islands north of the main island?? apparently there meant to be a bit less touristy?? x

they are more rural and def a lot less touristy, not many people go to them and you can only get to them by speedboat. many dont have people living on them so you can only really go for a day and there isn't much to do.
octopus, robinson crusoe and beachcomber are all north of nadi but in a different group of islands to the deserted ones. x

I was in Fiji for a week in 2006 prior to gong to Oz and I highl recommend Mantaray Island. I had an amazing tie there. Beach coer is alright but it it so pakced there was one hut for all the backpackers with like 50 beds in it so Id go for just one night. I heard the Yasawas were incredible but I didnt get to go...

If you have the money, Taveuni is a beautiful island to go visit. There's no infrastructure for backpackers and bot much to do there but relax, dive, horse riding, hiking, ect, but it is beautiful. They call it the garden island over there. They brag about how the reefs off that island were used by the producers of Nemo.
