Helloo im off to Bali in june and so far going to;

Ubud, Mt Batur, Banyupoh and Lovina. But cause its like a tour group thing (i have a credit with a company that NEEDS using) i hate the idea of going all the way there to just do a 'guided tour' pretty much and no real travelling. So we're thinking of staying a week or two extra money permitting buuut i dunno if i should be staying in bali and seeing more of the island or is that too much time and should i go to one of the neighbouring islands (gili islands/lombok) maybe thatd be abit samey though i dunno how similar they all are.. OR get a cheap flight into borneo for example.

What you reckon?

hey i love bali, ubud is my absoulutly fave place, its so very chilled and has amazing mushroom shakes!!!
you have to go out in kuta tho only spend a couple of days there is is really trashy, quiet liked seminyak as well fairly chilled some really good tranny bars lol!!!
you should try and go to the gillys or lombok, they are both really nice and the diving is excellant or you could fly into java, its a total culture shock but worth it!!!

i'll be in bali again at the end of june and cant wait!!!!

I went from Bali to Flores then got a boat over to the komodo islands, totally worth it if youve got a few days to spare, the dragons are amazing!!!!
To see them before they become extinct probably and in the wild was just fantastic so if you like wildlife id recommend it totally

How did you arrange going to the komodo island? Did you stay over?

Its something I'd propper like to do, but i've heard its veeerrry expensive and lonely plant said something about having to go in a tour group or something? Im not sure if you book this before or just turn up and see what happens

Oh and misskim I've got 3.5 weeks to play with now so i'm thinking bali - lombok - gilis - komodo islands (if money permits) - sulawesi then back to bali. So if you can recommend anywhere in the gilis or lombok as well thatd be ace

Its not expensive its very cheap you can just get a flight to flores for about 40quid then charter a boat from the harbour over to the islands and stay on the boat over night or for however long you want really depending on how long you have and how much you want to pay.
You have to pay a park fee to get on to the islands but its not expensive and that includes a guide. When you charter the boat you get a skipper and 1 crew member who may or maynot speak english.

Or you can do it the more expensive way of booking a tour from kuta, this way is more expensive but still not in the realms or ridiculous i think they were about 100quid for 2 days including flight boat meals and everything, so if you want everything done for you do it that way or if you want a bit more adventure do it yourself, id say its worth it and deffo not expensive, however i was there in 2006 so prices may have changed
