 Quick - I need a plan!

So I am in KL (for abuot the millionth time) and have 7 days until I have to get on a cheap ass Air Asia flight back to the UK. So with limited time, and a definitely limited budget, what do I do?

I've been to Penang and Langkawi, and want to try somewhere new, but its cheap and easy to get there from the city. As is the Cameron Highlands, but would like to fit in a wee bit of beach time before I head back to the miserable English winter!

I'd love to make it over to Sabah, but flights are astronomical this close to the date of flying.

Fancy the Perhentians too, but just read the post about accomm costing 40-50 ringits a night - much over the 9 i'm currently paying!

So anyone heading anywhere....
Anyone got a plan.....
Anyone got a smidgen of an idea...?

Hmmmm, they've just put a movie on behind me...maybe i'll multitask and come up with a plan whilst watching tv...

Theres nothing to do here....theres some markets and some shopping, and you can whizz up the Petronas Towers for a nice view of the city, otherwise, there isn't really much to spend your money on unless you take a day trip out to a village or a tour of the waterfalls.

I recommend the backpackers travellers inn on jln. Sultan in Puduraya/China town. It's cheap as chips and has air con at night! big plus. Pudu hostel is a dive with rooms the size of a shoebox!

Are the day trips worth it? Can you recommend any in particular? I'm staying at the red palm, seems nice enough.

loved the red palm

Their is the KL tower, its loads better then the petronas towers view and you get as much time as you want up there!

Bukit Bintang area is great for curries and things like that (not far from red palm) plus their is a shopping centre for some retail therapy.

You can also go into China town and that area but i found that a bit funny and I felt the need to cover my head as i was getting a lot of stares

One thing not many people know about is that in a area called pudu (can walk there or get metro) there is old prison and all around the outside is a mural that the prisoners did its the longest mural in the world. The prison itself isnt open anymore (used to be a museum) but its is quite a change round there as it looks very similar to the horror stories you hear about asian jails. I found it interesting seeing the mural and the prison from the outside but thats just me really.

I was at the Red Palm last week, its quite a decent place.

I wasn't that impressed with KL only ended up staying a day there and then headed up to the Cameron Highlands. The bus trip cost next to nothing. Need to go back there at some point for a visa and I'll probably go to the Batu caves when I'm there but other that i'm staying away.

KL is still better the Singapore in my opinion. There is so little to do there - only going back there as I want to do night safari
