Hello mate,

Maybe you could think about staying nearer to the airport as I don't think the buses going into the city that late (Just an idea!). There is a chain called Tune Hotels (Go here: http://www.tunehotels.com/LCCTTransit_KualaLumpur_Malaysia.aspx) they do super cheap rooms and they are of really high quality, just simple and very new but book in advance as they get booked up real quick. They have one 2 minutes walk outside the International arrivals terminal and then you could get the cheap bus into the city the next day. That way you won't fork out on taxi's...and your head down earlier!....

In the city we stayed in the Tropical Guesthouse which was really nice, cheap and laid back, not actually in Chinatown but you can walk there in 10mins max, the owner Belinda was really sound aswell. (Peak at: http://www.tropicalguesthousekl.com)

Hope that helps - Enjoy.

Not sure how late the skytrain runs but if you get the shuttle bus into the city you could probably get a taxi anyway. Go to tingkat tong shin in the golden triangle and stay at either Bedz KL or the Red Palm. Best area to be in, trust me. I'm sure if they know what time you're arriving someone will be there. Definitely Bedz KL, they have someone on duty all night. Waaaaay nicer than Chinatown and closer to all the sights.

In the city I stayed in Reggae Guesthouse, which was reallly really nice. Brand new, they have 2 sites and are opening a 3rd.
The area isn't amazing, but it's nice enough. Right near to an underground station and the china town markets.

I can't remember what time the buses into the city run til, but it takes about 50 mins to get into the city from the airport, so the underground will certainly be shut by then (which you will probably need to get to a hostel), and Reggae Guesthouse reception closed at 12 midnight. Save yourself being stranded may be better to stay near the airport...
