Hi there, im there for a week and am staying at the dragon hostel but if you go on hostelworld or somehwer like that there are plenty of places, also a friend of mine was there most of the summer and she sent me this just for a rough guide..

You should definitely go up to the peak on the old peak tram at about 6pm ish so you get the best view of hk in sun light and then it gets dark about 7 so you also see it at night time too.

Go to Mongkok on Kowloon side (you can get there on the MTR which is basically their underground but its a million times better than ours...clean/air con/phone reception underground!!) They have good chinese markets if you are into your fake stuff and also lots of streets of trainer shops at much cheaper prices than uk!

For nights out go to Lan Kwai Fong which is in Central (they have ladies night there on thursdays) and Wan Chai too (they have ladies night on wednesdays) Ladies night here means girls get in for free and get free drinks all night so it is always very busy!!! The nightlife is pretty much nocturnal here, you will love it! There are a lot of all you can drink places here too...tonight we are going to one called club 9 on ice house street in central, $99 all you can drink between 10 and 1...amazing considering that is about 7 pounds!!!!

Definitely go to Causeway bay because that is where times square is, central is good for shopping and markets too. You should make sure you use every kind of public transport while your here because its so much better than uk!!! Also get chinese food from the stalls on the streets, the food is amazing and so cheap!!

hope this helps a little..
