facebook ban in china ahhhhh |

| can anyone tell me if this ban is still in place?? am heading off to china soon for like 8 months or something and cant find any up to date info on if its still banned in beijing where im going to be based?!?! im sure facebook will be the last thing on my mind most of the time im out there, but its just such a convenient way to keep in touch with people!!

I have been in China for nearly a month now and have not been able to use it whenever I visit an internet cafe

| its filtered out but a web proxy can help you use it. Quite alot of the hostels have them on their comps already so you can use it! | |

| I have friends in China who have facebooked me no problem, however if you do get blocked somwhere and just want to let people know what youre doing, you can set up an RSS feed into your facebook notes from a blog such as livejournal or wordpress and that will update automatically so people can see what youre doing. | |

| ooh thats a relief hopefully it will all be fine!! im taking my laptop so does anyone know if i can download one of these proxy things before i go? (sorry if that makes no sense or if u dont actually download proxy servers :s )
