 Buses from Mombasa to Watamu/Malindi

Hey

I want to get from Mombasa up to Watamu to see some friends who live there at the end of january. I want to avoid the Matatus because I am travelling on my own and would prefer to get on a proper bus!

Does anyone know if the big bus companies do the Mombasa - Watamu - Malindi route? I did a bit of a google search and it looked like the Scandinavia bus company might do that route but their website wasnt very helpful.

Thanks

I'm not aware of there being any buses that go that way, but if you're already in Mombasa, why not go into the office of a bus company and ask - or ask a local?

Don't worry about using matatus. I lived in Nairobi for 3 months and that's all I used, in fact I preferred them to the bus - much faster.

You won't have any problems - and just ask the matatu man to tell you when to alight and you'll be fine. Alternatively, get your friends to come to Mombasa and take you there.

It's just one straight road from Mombasa.

I was driven from Mombasa to Malindi and it's pretty easy route like alex says, so if you can get a lift it wouldnt take very long at all!!
