Which organisation (mad, projects abroad, global volunteer projects)? |

| Hi
I'm looking to go to Ghana in Spring/summer next year and can't decide which organisation to go with. Has anyone gone with madventurer on an independent placement (e.g. medical or orphanage) and could tell me what they thought of the accomodation and support? Also has anyone gone with teaching and projects abroad or global volunteer projects and could give me any feedback on the medical and orphanage placements, accomodation, support etc? Thank you! help would be very much appreciated!!!

im going to Ghana next February with Projects abroad, and so far they've been great! the onlyt problem is you have to pay all your money in three months before you go whihc was a bit of a struggle as i didnt realsie this at the time ahah what are you looking to do? abi xx |

Yeah I think thats normal about paying in advanced tho...not sure if I'll be able to manage it! I'm hoping to combine the medical and orphanage placements. How about you? How long are you hoping to go for? Really excited about going to Ghana! Sarah |

| I did a couple of placements with Projects Abroad in Mexico and Nepal, everything went perfect, and yeah i didn't notice i had to pay with 3 months in advance either (hehe) | |

| Watch out with projects abroad.
The placement ifs fine, the insurance cover is not. The do not stick to their contractual obligations. |

| hey! I spent 5 weeks this summer in Ghana with Madventurer. They were quite good and flexible with your placement, although we didnt really see anyone from madventurer alot which was often quite annoying when we had problems! We were mainly looked after by the Ghanainan cook whos english wasnt great, but i guess its all part of the experience! Would recommend mad though because the projects they are involved in are brilliant and really worthwhile!! Had the time of my life!

| just a bit of advice, dont go with real gap, and always check if you can go directly rather than going threw an agency it always works out cheaper.

http://www.ultimate-voluntary.org/ I've been out a couple of times in the last 3 years and they're great. Really good opportunity to get involved across different projects and feel like you're part of a community. Sarah |
