Not really specific to Peru, as I also intend to travel to Brazil, Chile, Bolivia & Argentina in S.America...but what immunisations are required for S.America? I'm not there for until May nxt yr as heading to Oz first but want to get them done b4 I go away

Also, where do you recommend doing them through...NHS/local doctor or using a independent clinic like Nomads??

One that you need to get is Yellow Fever, other than that look online the netdoctor website is good or ask at travel clinics. I have used nomads and personally found them better than my doctor for information. Hope that helps.

Yeah yellow fever is a must because most of the countries in South America require the yellow certificate for you to pass through border control. That usually costs around 50 pounds and the other jabs you may need which are usually free are typhoid,MMR(which you probs wont need as you got it done at school when your like 13,not too sure),hmm hep A and B those are usually free on the NHS it all depends really like the rabies jab you dont really need and it depends where your going if your going into the jungle or what not.Book an appointment with your doctor and they can tell you more.;) Only ones i have got are Yellow Fever, typhoid. And you can normally buy malaria tablets at a pharmacy.but once again depending where you are going you will need much more stronger ones then the pharmacy.
Hope this has helped

Brazil is the only conutry where you're likely to be asked for your yellow fever vaccination certificate, although I never have been.

The rest of your vaccinations are for your own benefit, you wan't be asked to prove you're vaccinated against Typhoid, but it's probably a good idea.
