| Hey everybody,
I'm travelling to Ecuador this May, going to be there for 2 weeks from May 19th onwards, and was just wondering if anyone on these boards is gonna be there around this time? Also got a few questions on Ecuador - would love to travel to Banos, famous for the thermal baths and for being 'Gateway to the Amazon', but the Foreign Office website has advised travelling anywhere near the Tungurahua volcano, since there was activity there just this february - is it still unadvisable to go there now?? Been looking at going to the Napo Wildlife Centre in Yasuni National Park - is this in the province of Sucumbios though (which again, the foreign office advises against any travel to because of Columbian guerrillas in the area) ?? Finally - is Guayaquil worth a visit? My LonelyPlanet guide for South America doesn't really sell the place very well. James |
